Hi, my name is Edwin and I have a son who was abandoned from his Mon at the age of 10 months. I took custody of him since then he is the reason I work hard and served even our country trying to become a good father, example and provider for my son. His name is Hector Yael Roman, great and smart kid. Since Hector was around 1yr old my Mom who help me with Hector for around 3 years notice some slow develop on Hector`s communication skills. So at the age of 2 he was diagnostic with ADHD but when I married again in 2009 with my actual wife, one night she was watching the TV series "Parenthood" and told me that Hector acts and was very similar to the kid with Asperger on the series. Anyway long story short is he actually just got the diagnosis of autism at the age of 8 yrs old. I don`t know how to deal with him when he gets out of control, his change of moods, poor eating habits in the morning and the excessive appetite at night. I`m about to separate from my wife and taking Hector with me will be a huge challenge for me. I also suffer from PTSD, TBI and some others injuries related from my military service.
What programs are available for a single parent?
Did school needs to provide Hector special education? (He got troubles at schools)
I`m willing to do anything for him but is hard to keep up with him and not loosing my temper, sorry about the long post. I really need HELP!!!
